The Story of CLaSH

CLaSH, the Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia turned 25 this year. Started as a small parents support group, the association has grown to a well-respected service provider and registered welfare organisation. Mubasen Film and Video Productions tells the story of CLaSH through the experiences of a mother of a deaf child, a teacher and Heide Beinhauer, the organisation's director.

Joelma's Story

CLaSH, the Association for Children with Language, Speech and Hearing Impairments of Namibia invites you on a journey into the life of Joelma, a young deaf girl growing up in a rural village in northern Namibia. Joelma is one of the beneficiaries of “Empowerment through Education – hearing impaired children, their families and communities”, a CLaSH project that was co-funded by the European Union. The objective was to increase public awareness about hearing loss in children through advocating for early identification, early intervention and the early education of children with hearing loss with particular focus on seven target regions. Share part of our journey over the past three years and see how we were making a difference in the lives of Joelma and many others.
